Sylvia L. Peacock, 76, of Sinclairville, formerly of Irving/Sunset Bay. passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024. Born March 5, 1948 in Jamestown a daughter of the late Donald and Gladys Newton. She was a 1965 graduate of Falconer Central School and later in life graduated with honors from SUNY Fredonia earning a Bachelor's Degree in communications. Sylvia was a fulltime; wife, mother and homemaker who also worked outside of the home at various employment including Lake Shore Hospital and Job Corp. She loved caring for and riding horses and was a member of the Lou Eibl Corral, was a Life Member of the Ellington Rod and Gun Club and in her younger years enjoyed playing and coaching softball and oil painting. Wife of 58 years to Ronald A. Peacock, who she married Sept. 3, 1966; mother of Ronald A. (Marsha), Jr., of Peoria, AZ, Steven (Susan) of Sinclairville and Daniel (Lisa) Peacock of Irving; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of four (with a fifth expected); sister of Marie (late Greg) Walters of Tallahassee, FL, Eileen Newton of Silver Creek and the late Donald L. Newton and Donna Zofchak. Also survived by nieces and nephews. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements By Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
