Margot Gowan, 87, of Sinclairville, passed away on December 21, 2024. She was born in Puerto Rico on December 15, 1937, to Leonides Margara Rodriguez. She grew up in Jamestown, NY and in 1957 Margot married Richard Gowan at the Lady of Loretta Roman Catholic Church in Falconer, NY. Later on she moved to Los Angeles, California but returned to Jamestown in 1976. Margot led a fill life and loved listening to music and dancing. In her thirties she was a wrestler against other women. In 1978 Margot and Richard opened the Long Branch Bar and Restaurant in Falconer, NY. During the ownership she held many free holiday dinners for those in need. She also started up a women’s pool league. In their later years Margot and Russ would clean and care for the pier in Dunkirk.
Margot is preceded in death by her husband Richard E Gowan, her brothers Nickolas Rodriguez, Enrique (Chico) Rodriguez, William Rodriguez and her sisters Angie Benadict and Delia Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children Edward Gowan, Deanna Emmott and Alan Gowan, and her long time friend Russell Swanson.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date this summer.
