Lisa Jayne Obert Waite, 61, of Cassadaga, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 7, 1962 in Jamestown she is the daughter of Frederick and Catherine Abbey Obert of Sinclairville. Lisa was a 1980 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School, 1982 graduate of Jamestown Community College with an AS degree, 1984 graduate of SUNY Fredonia with a BS degree in Education and a 2008 graduate of Clarion University with a MS degree in Library Science. Lisa was an outstanding military wife, mother, grandmother, chicken farmer and homemaker engineer. She supported her husband and family through many military moves and temporary duty assignments and had a deep love of her country. Lisa founded, along with her mother, the Read and Feed book club, was proprietor of two short term rentals with her husband, passionately enjoyed playing Pickleball with the local club, sang in the Cassadaga choir, played clarinet in the Cassadaga Area Concert Band, converted to the Catholic faith and attended a variety of Catholic churches. Lisa enjoyed reading, knitting, Pickleball, boating, swimming the lakes, traveling and myriad activities that enriched her life and her family’s life. Wife of 39 ½ years to Dr. Rodney M. Waite whom she married in August of 1984. Mother of Zachary (Margaret) Waite, Alexander (Rachael) Waite, Nathaniel (Jennifer) Waite and Mariana (Reeju) Waite. Grandmother to Charlie, Connor, Lux, Peyton, Henry, Ayla and Evelyn. Sister of Natalie (John) Manno and Thomas (Julie) Obert. Sister-in-law to Jeff (Marc) Waite, Timothy (Dora) Waite, Barry (Barbara) Waite and Daryl Waite. Daughter-in-law to Ronald and Geraldine Kropat Waite of Cassadaga. A Celebration of Life is planned for the summer and will be announced in the future. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lisa's name to Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, NY 14782
