Obituary of Emmalene Spaulding

Emmalene “Emmie” Spaulding, 89 of Gerry, NY passed away February 25, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 29, 1934, in Stedman, NY daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth Briggs Peru. A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County Emmie attended Chautauqua High School. Along with raising 12 children, she worked several jobs retiring from WCA Hospital in 1982. Emmie enjoyed camping and fishing with her Late husband Harold Spaulding (2019). She will be deeply missed. Emmalene is survived by her children, Maxine (Ken) Brightman, Bonnie (Butch) Whitacre, Claude (Roberta) Chamberlin, Jim (Terry) Chamberlin, David (Trish) Hitchcock, Jefferey (Donna) Hitchcock, Carol (Larry) Barmore, Wendy (Al) Cobbe, Allen (Marlana) Hitchcock and Steven (Marlena) Hitchcock, her siblings, Donald Peru and Virginia Snow. Also surviving are several grand children, great grand children and great great grand children. Emmalene was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Elizabeth Peru, her husband, Harold Spaulding, her children, Robert Chamberlin and Kathy Chamberlin and her sisters, Cheryl Barber and Nancy Beatty and her grandchildren, Kenneth Brightman and Fallon Chamberlin. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 27, 2024, from 12PM-1:30PM at Jordan Funeral Home. Funeral service to be held 1:30PM at the funeral home followed by burial at Valley View Cemetery.
