Always a household of fun and laughter when we were children and the door was always open and welcoming.

Dad loved baseball. And he really enjoyed watching his boys play baseball, and his daughters playing softball too. That's why he always drove the CVCS sports buses. He got to go watch his kids, and got paid to do it!
He was a top-notch scorekeeper. He was incredibly neat and accurate when he kept a scorebook. I would sit on the bench with him when he was the scorekeeper for the Cassadaga Bombers of the Grape Belt league. (My brothers Dave & Dan played for them.) I was always asking dad questions about the marks he made in the scorebook, so he finally taught me how to do it & let me help him eventually. (But he scrutinized my work! Dad didn't like mistakes.)
Most of us kids got dad's love for baseball & softball, and we all kept playing as adults, be it in college, in the military, or eventually in recreational leagues. We were all pretty good at it too. Always grateful to dad for pushing us to do our best.
Thanks pop, for showing me that any task I undertake, I need to do it right, and do it til it's done.
That philosophy has served me well, even in the the ministry.

I remember Art Kibbe very well.. I came to know him in Ellington, where he sometimes watched Dave Kibbe play (I think) American Legion baseball. I played, too, and he took a keen interest in youth like us. He had a friendly and helpful way about him. I can't help but to find parallels with my own father, also a member of the greatest generation who served in the second world war.

Art was one of the kindest gentleman I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with. Art was one of our very first customers. He would stop in our office just to say hello. He will be very much missed. Patty Venman, Weinberg Financial Group
