Obituary of Lynn C Austin

Lynn C. Austin, 57 of Sinclairville, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Born Feb. 26, 1966, in Olean a daughter of the late Duane and Janice Schermerhorn Evans. She attended Jamestown High School, received her G.E.D., continued her education at Erie 2 Chautauqua Cattaraugus BOCES Practical Nursing Program and in 1992 received her nursing degree as an LPN. Lynn then worked her "dream job" for 20 years with Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care and was involved in the organization of the palliative care operation. She enjoyed camping, loved spending time with grandchildren and helping others which resulted in many referring to Lynn as "mom." She loved her dog Bongo. Wife of 17 years to David E. Austin, who she married Sept. 23, 2006; mother of Layla D. (Mark) Carlson and LaToyia L. Knight; grandmother of, Masen, Jorden and Mikayla Carlson and Javonte Hackett; sister of Rhonda (Billie) Johnson and the late Duane "Pete" Evans, Jr.; daughter-in-law of Ruth (late Frank) Austin; sister-in-law of James (Kim), Larry and the late Brenda (Jay Stearns of Cherry Creek) Austin. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation 1 p.m. Monday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
