Obituary of Daniel W Runge

Daniel W Runge, 85, from Wimauma, FL, took his final flight on May 10, 2023. Dan was born March 23, 1938, in Dunkirk, NY to the late Waldemar Runge and Feryl Penhollow. He was married to the late Joan Parker Runge for 32 years, and was later married to MaryEllen(Dikovitsky) for 20 years. Dan graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School in 1956. He earned a Bachelors Degree from Kent State University in 1962, and an MBA from Michigan State University in 1983. He was employed with TRW, Inc., until he retired in 1997. Dan was an avid golfer and loved to fish. He traveled all over the world throughout his life. His favorite passion was flying. He joined the Civil Air Patrol in Tampa and actively flew on missions for 20 yrs. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and a little league baseball coach. He also served as City Council President in Richmond Heights OH for several years in the 1970s. Dan was an active member of Calvary Church in Ruskin, FL where he volunteered weekly without fail. Dan is survived by his five children, Terry S. Runge of Grapevine TX, Timothy J. Runge (Christy) of Newnan, GA, Jill L. Mohney (Brian) of Cortland, OH, Mark M. Runge of Bradenton, FL, and Blair E. Runge of Wimauma, FL, grandchildren Brook, Kyle and Noelle Runge. He is also survived by his very special friend Penny Dahne, of Tampa, FL. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Madison Marron, and brothers David Runge and Dale Runge. Visitation Saturday, May 27, 11 a.m. in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville with funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial in Cassadaga Cemetery.
