Obituary of Wayne N Lind
Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wayne N. Lind, 84 of Jamestown formally of Sinclairville, was called home to our Lord to rest in eternal, and everlasting peace on Sunday May 14, 2023.
He was born October 27, 1938 in Jamestown, son of the late Richard Sr. and Mae Lind.
The Wayne Lind family began when he met the love of his life Carolyn Jackson, roller skating at Midway Park. It was a hobby they enjoyed for many yearstogether. They were blessed to celebrate 60 years of marriage on November 3, 2022. He was the father of three children Christine (Mark) Tarbrake, Catherine (Joseph) Sinatra and Rodney (Mary) Lind. Faith Family and Fun are ways to describe the motto Wayne lived by. The entire family would gather every Sunday night for homemade pizza leading to a tradition passed down to the 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren who he thought the world of. Jacob (Rebecca) Sinatra, Ryan Sinatra, Olivia (Justin) Andriaccio, Lauren (Jeff) Tempe, Ashley Lind, Morgan Tarbrake, Kelsey Tarbrake, Hannah Tarbrake, Isaac Sinatra, Leo Andriaccio, Opal Sinatra and Briggs Tempe.
Wayne grew up in Sinclairville on a dairy farm with three brothers, Richard, Charles and Gordon. He entered the US Army after graduating High School from Cassadaga Valley and worked at Pepsi Cola Company for many years prior to purchasing his own dairy farm, which was a perfect place to raise a family. The five of them worked tirelessly and built a bond beyond measure.
Wayne was an avid Duke basketball fan and loved following Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. In downtime he would enjoy listening to Gaither Gospel music, watching Gunsmoke or talking on the phone to his best friend Johnny Swanson.
Wayne was a kind, loving, gentle man who loved to laugh and make others laugh, as was found out by the wonderful nurses in his care at Encompass Rehab Hospital in Erie and LSS Rehab in Jamestown.
Wayne will be missed, but his legacy will live on in those whose lives he’s touched.
The family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Jordan Funeral Home with funeral services to be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m.at the Bemus Point Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Pascoe officiating.
Memorials may be made to Bemus Point Methodist Church. Condolences to: jordansinclairville.com
