Eileen F. Madison, 86, of Ellington, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2nd in Greenhurst, NY. Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Cherry Creek, NY. Eileen is a graduate of Pine Valley Central School. Shortly after graduation she married her husband Robert. During the early years, she was dedicated to raising her sons. Eileen was actively involved in 4-H and was an Assistant Leader of The Ellington Vista Riders 4-H Horse Club. She was involved in many other activities that her sons participated in during their childhoods, including piano lessons, horse shows, and baseball games. Later, she attended Raphael's School of Beauty in Jamestown, NY and earned her beauticians license. After earning her beauticians license she opened her own business, Eileen's Beauty Shop, located in Ellington, NY. Her husband, Robert, was a life long dairy farmer and Eileen was a great help on the farm. After their retirement they enjoyed many years of traveling across the United States. Branson, MO was one of their favorite stops. Eileen always took great joy in anything her grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in, including; baseball games, hockey games, piano recitals, soccer games, softball games, and dance recitals. Eileen was an avid knitter and you could often find her work for sale in local gift shops. She loved her Bichon, Torrey, and was a member of the Bichon Lovers Clubhouse. Eileen always enjoyed traveling to the annual Bichon Bashes and meeting new friends.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert Madison of Ellington, NY; son James (Terri) Madison of Ellington, NY; son Ronald (Michelle) Madison of Ellington, NY; granddaughter Aleyna (Matthew) Mandel of Hurricane, WV; grandson Kyle Madison of Lakewood, NY; grandson Brian Madison of Jamestown, NY ; and great grandchildren Dyllan and Lillee Mandel; Paige and Bennett Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents Frances and Elmer Reik of South Dayton, NY.
At her request there will be no visiting hours. Please consider making a donation in Eileen’s name to the Ellington Volunteer Fire Department.
