It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Linda D. Tanner Briggs, at the age of 73, on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Linda was a lifelong resident of Stockton.
Born in Jamestown on July 5, 1949 a daughter of the late Byron and Marilyn Huth Tanner. Wife of the late William E. Briggs, who she married August 23, 1997, and who died May 2, 2021.
Linda was a graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School, class of 1967. She had formerly been employed as a bartender at the Cassadaga American Legion, Frawley’s Tavern, and the Stockton Hotel. Linda was a generous volunteer with many local organizations donating tremendous amounts of time and “bull work”. Her memberships included Fredonia Beaver Club, Dunkirk Moose, SCORE and Stockton Cemetery Association.
