Obituary of Susie M Zahm

Susie M. Penhollow Zahm, 96 formerly of Gerry, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Friday, April 1, 2022 in her home at Brookdale Senior Living, Lakewood. Born June 15, 1925 in the Town of Charlotte daughter of the late Bert and Ida Harper Penhollow; Step-daughter of the late Arlene Penhollow. She was a 1943 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School. Susie was a partner in the former Zahm Farm Supply and bookkeeper for Zahm and Matson, Inc. for many years. She was a former member of the Charlotte Center United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Sylvia Chapter of the Rebeckahs, Arkwright Grange, 4-H leader and Sinclairville Library volunteer. Susie was proud to presently be serving as the Resident Ambassador at Brookdale. Wife of 63 years to the late Marvin E. Zahm who she married June 19, 1946 in the Charlotte Center United Methodist Church and who died April 11, 2009; mother of Judy L. (Pierre) Chagnon of Bemus Point and the late D. William Zahm (June 16, 1982); mother-in-law of Janet (Ron) Lindstrom of Jamestown; grandmother of, W. Corey (Courtney) Zahm of Norfolk, VA., James M. (Reneé) Zahm of Jamestown, Marc P. (Whitney) Chagnon of Denver, CO., Jenelle L. (Will) Geoghegan of Bloomington, IN.; Step-grandmother of, Stacy (Jacob)Weckesser of Medina, OH; great grandmother of, Dixon, Bennett and Paul James Zahm, Elodie Chagnon and Oisín Geoghegan; step-great grandmother of Rose, Henry and Harrison Weckesser; sister of Bertha (Late Bill) Fredrickson of Cassadaga and the late Anne E. (Late Donald) Jordan and Jane A. (Late Rod Potter and Late Bob Greene) Greene; step-sister of Sylvia Morey. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
