Obituary of Olive Tilyou Donaldson

Olive Tilyou Donaldson, 98, formerly of South Stockton, passed in the early morning hours, Friday, February 25, 2022 in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Gerry, NY. with her niece Beth Ann Carlson by her side. She was born April 27, 1923 in Stockton, NY, the daughter of William and Mabel (Blodgett) Snell. Olive was a graduate of the new CVCS High School in 1940. Following graduation she worked on the Tilyou family farm and was a homemaker. In 1965 she was employed by the Cassadaga Valley Central Schools. She later became the kitchen supervisor at Cassadaga Elementary until she retired in 1990. She was an active member of The South Stockton Wayside Chapel where she taught Sunday School, enjoyed playing piano & led music worship. Olive loved cooking, baking & making wedding cakes for family & neighbors. She liked the outdoors, especially mowing! She loved being with all her family & traveling to see those far away. She was hardly ever found without a grandchild in her arms. She was preceded in death by her husbands Eugene A Tilyou on May 3, 1980 and William J Donaldson on February 20, 2015, daughter Sharon E Lang on June 14, 2019 and brother Willis E Snell on December 30, 2012. Olive is survived by her son Ross E Tilyou (Josephine) Punta Gorda, FL, her son-in-law Paul Lang Sinclairville, NY, her sister Janice Ann Carlson (Lawrence) Cassadaga, NY grandchildren Richard Lang (Dory) Erie, PA. Bridgette Tilyou, Nashville, TN. Vanessa Rieger (Daniel) Indianapolis, IN and Sabrina Smiley (Ryan) Whitestown, IN. 16 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will never be adequate words to express how much we love her.
