Obituary of David J Skillman
David J. Skillman, 57 of Dewittville, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Born June 12, 1964 in Jamestown a son of the late Edwin and Wilma Martin Skillman.
He was a former student of Bemus Point School System.
David was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving as a Chaplains Assistant from 1985-1989 on the USS Constellation, was awarded five service metals and also served in the Naval Reserves until 1993.
He had been employed by Aspire, Webb's Hotel, a cook at The Casino, Bemus Point and Arby's.
David enjoyed cooking and was a sports fan particularly of the Dallas Cowboys with a wide statistical knowledge of teams and players.
Husband of 23 years to Sara Lawrence Skillman who he married June 13, 1998; step-father of Jason Anderson; brother of, Thomas (Linda), Phillip (Wendy) and Peter (Peggy) Skillman and Peggy (Douglas) Johnson and Shamla Hallberg.
Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation Monday from 9:30 until the start of the service at 11:30 a.m. in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Burial In Fluvanna Cemetery at a later date.
