Obituary of Martha M Harmon

Martha M. Wilder Harmon, 91 of Sinclairville, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at home, surrounded by family. Born Jan. 11, 1930, the eldest daughter of the late Sterling "Curly" and Nellie Hoyt Wilder in Jamestown. Martha attended school through eighth grade in Salamanca before moving to Sinclairville and graduating from Cassadaga Valley Central School in 1947. In earlier years she had worked at Sears and Murphy's and was then employed as a glass cutter at Falconer Plate Glass for 27 years retiring in 1994 due to an on the job injury. Martha was a member of the Charlotte Center United Methodist Church, The Sinclairville 76ers, Sinclairville Senior Citizens, Rodeo City Senior Citizens, with who she enjoyed numerous bus trips, Ladies of the Moose, Falconer, Mt Sinai Mecca O.E.S. Chapter #132, Jamestown and a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #638, Falconer. Martha enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, occasional trips to the casino to play the slots and prior to COVID working out regularly at the Cassadaga Valley Central School Fitness Center and in earlier years cooking for the entire family "The more the merrier!" Wife of 45 years to the late Charles "Chuck" Harmon who she married December 25, 1948 the Sinclairville United Methodist Church and who died Sept. 23, 2003; mother of, Ronald (Charlotte) Harmon of Cassadaga, Vickie (Ronnie) Felter of Portage, MI, Terry (Jeffrey) Pullan of Jamestown and the late Scott (04/17/2009); grandmother of Mickey Johnson and Tommy (Jennifer) Fox all of Kennedy, Stacey Harmon of Lakeland, FL., Ronald (Alexis) Harmon, Jr. of Jamestown, Randy (Alicia) Harmon of Cassadaga and K. Tyler Harmon of Lake Mary, FL; great-grandmother of Ronald Harmon, III, Kayla, Alexandra and Morgan Johnson and Brianna Fox, Zoey and Ava and Persephone Harmon; sister of the late Vernal Austin (1988), Karle (1974), Ted (1985) and Donna (2000) Wilder; mother in law of the late Tommy Fox (2014); sister in law of the late Margaret Ryan (2016) and Shirley Wilder (2012) Visitation 4-7p.m. Sunday in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Sinclairville. Flowers gratefully declined; memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
