Robert P. Bykowski July 13, 1943 – April 3, 2026 Robert P. Bykowski of Cassadaga, New York, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, after a short illness. He was 82. Born on July 13, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, Robert was the son of the late Florence and Matthew J. Bykowski. He lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a strong commitment to his family and community. Robert honorably served in the United States Army. He went on to establish a distinguished career as a manager and engineer with the Simplex Time Recorder Company, and later as a successful business owner and entrepreneur. He additionally served as a Lieutenant with the Erie County Sheriff’s Department Scientific Staff, earning respect for his professionalism and expertise. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharon C. Bykowski; his parents; and his siblings, Geraldine Letersky and Paul Bykowski. Robert is survived by his son, Matthew R. Bykowski (Josh) of Arlington, Vermont; his brother, Karl Bykowski (Linda); and a wide circle of extended family members and friends. Throughout his life, Robert generously gave his time to organizations and causes he cared deeply about, contributing countless volunteer hours and leaving a lasting impact on his community. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to service, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In honor of Robert and his beloved wife Sharon, memorial donations may be made to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, whose artwork reflected their belief in a deeply human view of everyday life—full of humor, warmth, community, and moral clarity.
