Obituary of Mark A Lessinger

Mark A Lessinger, 75, of Brocton NY, passed away February 11, 2026. He was born November 24, 1950 to parents Harry & Natalie in Newburgh, NY. Mark graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1968 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Fredonia State University in 1989. Mark retired from Chautauqua County Department of Social Services in 2012, prior to his employment with the county Mark enjoyed owning and running a small photography and pet store, Knowlton’s. Mark also spent many years volunteering with Fredonia Fire Department and more recently took up wood turning and enjoyed creating many small craft items. Throughout his life he partook in a variety of musical endeavors and had a deep love for classical music. In addition to spending time with his grandchildren, Mark's favorite companion was his bernedoodle Zachary. Mark is survived by his son David (Susan) Lessinger, his daughter Erica (Paul) Alves, and his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael, Adam, Matthew and Raemond. He was predeceased by his parents Harry & Natalie, his brother Bart and wife Martha. The family will be holding a private memorial service with a celebration of life to be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brocton Fire Department or Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue.
