Amy loved her family and friends and loved being with them. She never seemed to meet a stranger. Before her blindness set in, Amy always wanted to know “who’s that” when seeing someone walking by. She met a lot of nice people because she had the ability to see the heart of people. She was a friend to all. At times she would associate a funny name to a person and would always refer to them by that name. After her blindness set in, she knew the voices of her family and friends when they came to visit her. Amy enjoyed watching birds, learning their calls and she really loved her camper. Sometimes it was a challenge to get her out. She
enjoyed camping, bon fires, roasting hot dogs and her friends in the camping club. Amy would make trips with her parents to Arizona to help missionary friends pack Christmas bags for different Indian ministries. At Christmas time, she was a faithful bell ringer for the Salvation Army. Amy loved to help in any way she could. No task was too menial for her to do and she would always have a smile on her face. If she knew her picture was being taken – you would definitely get an “Amy smile”. In spite of her disabilities, Amy enjoyed life, was full of love for all and brought smiles to everyone she met.
