Obituary of Maurene B House

Maurene B. House, 91, of Orchard Park, formerly of Cassadaga, NY passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest House. Maurene was born June 12, 1933 in Cassadaga to Adrian and Hildur Johnson Bergquist. She was a 1951 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and went on to earn her degree at Fredonia State University, finding great fulfillment in her career as a Special Education teacher. She is survived by daughters Rhonda (Robert) Drezek, Gayle House, and son Jeffrey (Sharon Ruckh), grandsons Michael (Michelle) Drezek, Scott (Julie) Drezek, Lance Thurston (Christie Grant), and granddaughter Lisa (Andrew) Ruestow, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Sister of the late Ruth (late Jack) Galbreath and late Roger (late Dorothy) Bergquist. She is survived by many friends at Fox Run in Orchard Park, NY. Family will be present Friday May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. for calling hours and Saturday May 10 at 11 a.m. for a funeral service at Jordan Funeral Home, 6 Parkway Drive Sinclairville, NY 14782. Interment will be in the Cassadaga Cemetery. A celebration of Maurene's life will be held at Fox Run at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department or Cassadaga American Legion. Maurene was an amazing woman who cared deeply for her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
