William R. George, 93 of Cassadaga, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 16, 2025
at Absolute Care, Dunkirk.
Born in Elmira January 11, 1932 the son of the late Peggy M. Hultgren.
Bill lead a full life engaging in various forms of employment including, but not limited
too, farm work, serving as a deputy sheriff in Idaho and drove ambulance and truck. Bill
also worked for Gowanda Psychiatric Center, St. George Construction, Tupperware Co.,
was involved in the making of the tables used for President John F. Kennedy's
inauguration and also worked at Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, making jewelry, watching old westerns and going with his
wife for a cheeseburger and a milkshake. He was also a Frank Sinatra fan.
Husband of 63 years to the late Lucille Stockwell George who he married July 1, 1950
and who died June 6, 2013; father of Richard (Linda) of Fredonia and Donald (Lori)
George of Randolph and the late Rodney George (2008) and Linda Owing (2012);
grandfather of 13 and is also survived by great and great-great grandchildren. Also
survived by nieces nephews and the David and Mahealani Jennings family including their
children Harmony, Riley, Kairyn and Jorryn, who enjoyed his company and caring for his
needs.
Graveside service 1 pm Tuesday, April 22 at Mayville Cemetery, 122 E. Chautauqua St.,
Mayville. Arrangements by Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville.
