I have fond memories of visits from cousin Dan, Hilary and family to my childhood home in Findlay, Ohio. Dan was always full of life and a great source of stories about my Dad Joe Barkey's life growing up in Kewanna and North Judson, Indiana. Dan and Hilary were also a great comfort to me and my siblings, David, Sandra, and Dale, when my Dad passed away in 2009. My thoughts are with all the Bauman and Barkey family. Dan will live on in our loving memories.

I knew Dan for many years. I worked with him in the Chautauqua County Conservative Party. He knew all the abstruse and bedeviling requirements and rules of the election law. As party secretary, he kept the whole organization running effectively as well as acting as its instiutional memory, always behind the scenes. I also appreciated his photographic work for the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association. And he documented Stockton cemeteries for the Chautauqua County Genealogical Society. Plus he was a computer whiz, especialy with DOS and older equipment.

Thank you for all the lovely memories Daniel. Laughter knowledge and grape jam. I still have a jar with your name on it. It couldn't find you and sadly won't ever. We are fortunate to have the memories we shared. My sincere condolences to your family who feel the emptiness where you loving laughter was. We carry you on with us always. Love always to you and your family.
